£5 a month. Three winners. One great cause.
Pick your lucky numbers from 1 to 200 and you're in every monthly draw. Half of everything raised goes straight to the care of Kemnay's children; the other half is shared between three winners.
You must be 18 or over and live in Great Britain to play. We verify the age of every player. Please play responsibly: safer play tools and support.
Four simple steps
Choose your numbers
Pick up to 10 numbers between 1 and 200, or let us allocate them. Each number costs £5 per monthly draw.
Set up payment
Send your application and we email you our bank details. Pay by monthly standing order (or bank transfer for a single draw).
The draw
At 7pm on the last Friday of each month, three numbers are drawn at random from all paid-up numbers, witnessed by two trustees.
Winners paid
Winners are told by email or phone within 2 working days and paid by bank transfer within 14 days. Results go online the same evening.
Payment must reach us by midnight on the Wednesday before a draw for your numbers to be entered. Unpaid numbers are not entered.
Three prizes every month
50% of each month's ticket money forms the prize fund, split between three winners. The more numbers taken, the bigger the prizes.
| Prize | Share of prize fund | With all 200 numbers | With 100 numbers |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1st | 50% | £250 | £125 |
| 2nd | 30% | £150 | £75 |
| 3rd | 20% | £100 | £50 |
Prizes are rounded down to the nearest pound; any remainder goes to the club. There are no rollovers. A number can only win one prize per draw.
Where the money goes
The law requires at least 20% of a society lottery's proceeds to go to the good cause. We give 50%. The club's share pays for:
- Play equipment, craft and outdoor activities
- Healthy breakfasts and snacks
- Holiday trips and special events
- Keeping places affordable for local families
Lottery running costs are met from the club's share; volunteers run the draw.

Questions about the lottery
Who can play?
Anyone aged 18 or over who lives in Great Britain. Trustees and volunteers who conduct or witness a draw can't enter that draw. People who have self-excluded can't play during their exclusion.
When is the draw and how is it done?
At 7pm on the last Friday of each month (in December, the Friday before Christmas). Every paid-up number is placed in the draw and three are picked at random by a random number generator, witnessed by two trustees who have not entered. A record of each draw is kept for at least one year.
How will I know if I've won?
We contact winners by email or phone within 2 working days. Winning numbers are also published on our results page and Facebook page. We show winners by initials and town only, and only with their permission.
How are prizes paid?
By bank transfer within 14 days. Prizes not claimed within 90 days of the draw go to the club.
Can I pay by card online?
No. To keep things simple and safe, payment is by standing order or bank transfer only. We will never ask for card details, and never ask you to pay by credit.
How do I cancel?
Cancel the standing order with your bank and email [email protected]. Your numbers are released after the next draw. There's no cancellation fee.
Can I buy a number as a gift?
Yes, for another adult aged 18 or over. The player named on the application must give their own age declaration. Lottery numbers can never be given to children.
Is this a donation? Can I add Gift Aid?
No. Lottery entries are a form of gambling, so Gift Aid can't be claimed on them. If you'd like to give without the chance of a prize, please make a donation instead, which can include Gift Aid.
Is the lottery regulated?
Yes. It is a small society lottery under the Gambling Act 2005, registered with Aberdeenshire Council. Each draw stays within the legal limits (no more than £20,000 in ticket sales per draw or £250,000 per year), and we send a return to the council after every draw.
Play safely: our promise, your tools, and where to get help
A lottery is still gambling. We want every player to enjoy supporting the club and to stay in control. Everything you need is on this page.
Age limit: 18+
The legal minimum age for society lotteries in Great Britain is 16 (Gambling Act 2005). Because tickets are sold online and by subscription, KBASC applies a stricter 18+ rule. Tickets may not be bought for, or given to, anyone under 18.
How we check age
Every application asks for your date of birth and a declaration. Before your first draw we may ask for proof of age (driving licence, passport or Young Scot / PASS card). Entries from under-18s are cancelled, all money is refunded and any prize is forfeited.
Low stakes by design
One draw a month, £5 per number, a maximum of 10 numbers (£50) per person per month. No instant games, no rollovers, no repeated play and no credit: payment is by standing order or bank transfer only.
Keep it fun: our golden rules
- Think of your entry as a donation to the club with a chance of a prize, not a way to make money.
- Set a monthly budget you can afford and stick to it.
- Never borrow, use credit or chase losses to play.
- Don't play when you're stressed, low, or after drinking.
- Balance gambling with other activities and talk about it openly with family.
- Keep lottery tickets and gambling away from children and young people.
Is gambling becoming a problem? Ask yourself
- Do you spend more money or time gambling than you meant to?
- Have you tried to cut down and found it hard?
- Do you gamble to escape worries, boredom or low mood?
- Have you borrowed money, sold things or missed bills because of gambling?
- Have family or friends worried about your gambling, or have you hidden it from them?
- Do you feel restless, guilty or irritable about gambling?

Your safer play tools
Set a spend limit. Choose fewer numbers (1 to 10) when you join, or email us at any time to reduce them. Reductions apply from the next draw.
Take a break. Pause your entry for 1, 3 or 6 months. We will not contact you about the lottery during a break.
Self-exclude. Ask to be excluded for a minimum of 6 months (or permanently). We cancel your numbers, stop all payments being taken into the lottery, remove you from lottery mailings, and will refuse any new application from you during the exclusion. Exclusion cannot be reversed early.
Cancel any time. Cancel your standing order with your bank and tell us. No questions, no penalty.
Email [email protected] with the subject "Safer play request". We act within 2 working days.
Block gambling on your devices and cards. Most UK banks let you switch on a gambling block in their app. Free and low-cost blocking tools include GAMSTOP (free self-exclusion from all GB-licensed online gambling sites and apps), BetBlocker (free) and Gamban.
